“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”

― Fred Rogers

At the Table

The purpose of this program is to serve children in this community experiencing food insecurity with a nutritious meal and the opportunity to cultivate friendships. By inviting kids to sit around the table together, social skills can be fostered and enhanced using the various methods developed by our social workers for social-educational practices and recreational activities.

A variety of activities are planned every week to reinforce soft skills and develop gross motor skills. Through recreation and play, each activity is expected to achieve specific learning outcomes. We provide a safe space for kids to eat, grow, learn, and, most importantly, play!
